Most common human regrets

Given below are some of the most common regrets which human beings carry at the time of death:

1. Haven't achieved great things or done great works:

Every human being however great, one may be,  feels that he hasn't achieved his full potential and his dreams . Gandhiji had lived with the regret that he was not able to earn freedom for Indians for 78 years of his life. The important part is to keep doing something towards achieving your dreams every single day of your life rather than giving them up.

2. Never inspired others by example:

There are many times when you would have exhorted your subordinates to pull up their socks, improve their work and achieve excellence and as many times you would have regretted that your pep talk didn't enable performance beyond a day or two.
The key which helps you achieve long term change and thereby consistent excellence in performance of your team, peers and organisation is inspiring others by Example and not just by words.

While there are many leaders in this world who are leaders due to their position in the hierarchy , there are few who inspired others by example. However when you inspire others by example, you have enabled others to  adopt changes in their habits and method of functioning which would enable them achieve excellence consistently.

3. Never took any bold risks and hence never received any bright rewards : How many times have you left an opportunity that came your way because you felt that it is too risky? How many times have you faced two options - one of them extremely risky and the other entirely risk free and selected the later one? How many of those times had you felt that you would have earned greater money or success or satisfaction had you taken the first option?

Answers to these questions always

4. Never learned the skill of transforming adversity into victory or lead into gold : The most common reaction to adversity is to run away from it. Check for yourself  whether the number of times you ran away from adversity is higher than the number of times you faced it and converted the adversity into an opportunity.

5. Not realised that work is about being radically helpful to others and not being helpful to oneself.

6. Lived life the way society trained oneself to live and not the way one wants to be.
7. Never realised one's absolute best nor touched the special genius one was built to become.

In case, you share one or all of  the same regrets and you really do not want to continue with them , read on....
